I first felt like I didn’t belong to any of the traditional religious groups. Then I met Mary Manin Morrissey at Living Enrichment Center in Portland. When I left Portland, Unity Churches were recommended, with similar philosophy. I found CSL in Anacortes to socialize and meet like minded people. I found Rev. Ginny’s classes inspiring, and when she retired and Rev. Shelley took over, I liked her talks, enthusiasm, positive inspiring personality and classes. Overall it’s a welcoming, kind, supportive group that makes me feel connected to spirit and to community. A very inclusive and loving group.

I’ve been a church-goer for a good portion of my life, primarily Catholic. I became disenchanted with the structure and looked for other options.

When we moved to Anacortes, our friend Barbara invited us to a Sunday service. We met the minister, a white-haired, tiny, dynamo of a woman, always with a bright open face. After the service, everyone was friendly over coffee and refreshments.

Reverend Shelley is a gifted speaker and she is primarily the reason I’m here. I’ve also witnessed other guest speakers who held my attention. I think I like the philosopy, and enjoy the warmth and kindness of Shelley and others. We enjoy being with the people and returning every week.
